James A. Italia
James A. Italia is the principal attorney of Italia IP. He is a registered patent attorney in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. For over 20 years, Italia's practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property in a wide range of fields.
Attorney James has degrees in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California at San Diego. He earned his law degree in an accelerated two-year program at Southwestern University School of Law.

Before pursuing a career in law, specializing in intellectual property laws, attorney Italia was a research scientist at several institutions. He was part of The Salk Institute, National Genetics Institute, and the University of Chicago. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he received a patent in his field.
As a patent holder, attorney Italia went on to design and manufacture a biotechnology-related product that is currently sold throughout the world. His experience of taking an idea to a marketable product is one that helps him provide valuable insight to all the clients.
